Bookmaker.xyz was one of the first independent front-ends built on the Azuro Protocol, a decentralized betting-liquidity infrastructure, launching in June 2022 on Polygon and later expanding to Gnosis Chain. Rather than taking deposits into a house account, every bet wagers directly from your connected wallet into Azuro's on-chain liquidity-pool smart contracts — there's no sign-up, no deposit step and no identity verification to place a bet.

How the on-chain AMM pricing works

Bookmaker.xyz doesn't set odds manually the way a traditional bookmaker does. Instead, a virtual automated market maker reprices each market on-chain as bets come in — conceptually closer to how a decentralized exchange prices an asset than how a sportsbook sets a line. All settlement happens through Azuro's smart contracts, which the platform's own marketing and technical documentation present as auditable and on-chain. Coverage is broad: football, basketball, tennis, cricket, MMA, boxing, ice hockey, baseball, both codes of rugby, volleyball, table tennis and American football, plus esports including CS2, League of Legends and Dota 2. Active users can also work through a tiered loyalty program with four levels (Pro, Elite, Master and Apex) that rewards betting volume.

Pros

  • Genuinely non-custodial — funds never leave your own wallet except for the duration of an open bet
  • Zero identity verification, wallet-connect-only onboarding with no deposit step
  • On-chain, auditable odds and settlement via the established Azuro Protocol

Cons

  • Pooled-liquidity AMM pricing means thinner odds and liquidity than centralized books, especially for larger bets
  • Limited to Polygon and Gnosis Chain, with no fiat on-ramp built in
  • Thin public track record — no independently verified lifetime volume or user numbers

Platform & custody notes

Bookmaker.xyz is fully non-custodial: bets settle directly from your own wallet through Azuro's on-chain smart contracts, and the platform itself never holds your funds. It has been live since June 2022, giving it a moderate track record within the DeFi sportsbook category. Because pricing runs on pooled liquidity rather than a centralized order book, market depth can vary a lot by sport and stake size — check current liquidity for your bet directly on the site before wagering anything substantial.

Our verdict

For bettors who want a truly wallet-only, non-custodial sportsbook with zero sign-up friction, Bookmaker.xyz is one of the cleaner examples of the model done well. If you need deep liquidity for large single bets or a fiat deposit option, you may find the pooled AMM structure limiting.
